Data protection provisions

General considerations: The Deutsche Bundesbank attaches great importance to protecting your personal data and maintaining your privacy. The following information outlines how we collect and use personal data on our online event websites.

Data collection, processing, use and possible disclosure of personal data to third parties

Data submitted in email queries are used only to respond to such queries and are stored for a maximum of two years after processing has been completed.

When you sign up for an event via online registration, your data are processed solely for this purpose and are erased two years after the event has taken place. Your data will only be stored beyond this date at your explicit request. For organisational reasons, your data may be passed on to third parties, e.g. for the purposes of using the online registration system or for identification purposes during security checks by the Federal Police before entering Bundesbank premises. Any such third parties are of course also required to comply with the relevant data protection provisions. Irrespective of the above, you are entitled at any time to request the erasure of your data.

We do not disclose your data to third parties without your express consent unless this is required by law, owing to a court decision, or in connection with legal or criminal proceedings following an attack on the Bundesbank’s internet infrastructure. Data are not disclosed for other non-commercial or commercial purposes.

Cookies
We use cookies on our website. Cookies are small text files containing configuration data that our web servers send to your browser upon visiting our website. They are then stored on your device for future visits to our website.
Cookies allow our website to load or save information from your browser. This may include information about you, your settings or your device. Primarily, they are used to allow our website to carry out its expected functions. Normally these data do not identify you directly. They do, however, offer you a personalised internet experience.
Our website uses both transient cookies and persistent cookies. Transient cookies, also known as temporary or session cookies, are used exclusively for the duration of your visit to our website. They are automatically deleted at the end of every session. Persistent cookies are deleted from your browser after a predetermined period of time. The cookies we have implemented are used exclusively for maintaining your session and identifying you while you are logged in to our website. These cookies are used for no other purpose.
The aforementioned cookies are absolutely necessary for our website to function and cannot be deactivated in our systems. Usually these cookies are only created as a result of actions you perform that constitute requests for services, such as setting your data protection preferences, logging in, or filling out forms. You can configure your browser so that it informs you about or blocks these cookies. However, some sections of the website may cease to function as a result.
These session cookies are used on the basis of Article 6(1) letter (f) of the GDPR. Visiting and using the website, as well as providing the services the website offers, would be technically impossible without the use of these cookies.

Deactivating cookies
Most browsers are set up to allow cookies automatically by default. You can reject the creation of cookies by deactivating cookies in your browser’s settings. Please note, however, that some of the cookies are absolutely necessary for our website to function, as the site cannot otherwise be visited or displayed. If you deactivate cookies, it will not be possible for you to make (full) use of parts of the website.
Any cookies that are not absolutely necessary for our website to function are used only with your prior express consent.
Furthermore, you can manage the installation of cookies yourself at any time by changing your browser’s settings and/or deleting all cookies.
